San Francisco Golf Club is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in San Francisco, California
San Francisco Golf Club first opened for play in 1915. The course was designed by A. W. Tillinghast. In 1950 Harold Sampson swapped the 13th and 14th greens and constructed a new 15th hole. Tom Doak redesigned the course in 2001 in the spirit of the original Tillinghast design concepts. Nobody can be sure exactly how closely Doak came to matching Tillinghast's original, but it hardly matters. The holes blend in with the rest of the course and look as if they have been there forever.
The course plays to a par of 71 and a maximum distance of 6,828 yards.
